Laura Colvin

Occupational Therapist

Laura Colvin is an Occupational Therapist who has worked in a variety of clinical areas. She qualified with a BSc in Occupational Therapy in 2013 and has an interest in Paediatric neurological conditions.

Her experience includes working with older clients on their mental health, physical rehabilitation, and working with children with physical and learning disabilities in a Special Needs School.

Laura loves working with clients to achieve their goals using a variety of therapy interventions.

Occupational Therapy helps a person of any age group achieve their optimum function in any area of their life. OT’s recognise that engagement in meaningful occupation can promote good mental health, assist recovery and help people achieve personalised outcomes such as being able to care for themselves, engage in work and leisure activities, and participate within the community.

  • Advising on adaptive aids/equipment to maximise independence.

  • Assessing and providing fine motor skills programmes.

  • Building independence and confidence with going out in to the community and linking in with community resources.

  • Providing advice and interventions for those with sensory processing difficulties.
